The Hyde Park Learning Resource Center is the vision of its founder, Lillie F. Goodwin. The organization was incorporated and established as a state licensed center in 1998. The Hyde Park Learning Resource Center staff is a dedicated group of men and women from diverse backgrounds. For the last five years, this cohesive group of early education and upper school specialists has provided children with a stable set of adult resources.

Lillie Goodwin, the founder and director, was a certified teacher in the Chicago Public School system for three years before venturing into corporate life. She worked in pharmaceutical sales for 17 years as a sales representative and manager while pursuing her masters degree in Education and Psychology. Angelique Connor, co-Director has a vast background in early childhood education, having worked in the Head Start program for 10 years prior to joining HPLRC. The prestigious University of Chicago has served as our chief source of tutors. We currently have three graduate students working with our children as tutors and after school staff.
